For Friday lunch meetings, cancellations must be received by 5 p.m. on the preceeding Monday to avoid being billed. For other special events, cancellations must be received at least four days prior to the event to avoid billing.

We’re going on a field trip!

That’s right. Our March 31 meeting will take us to the newly renovated Robinson Center. Join us from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. as we take a behind-the-scenes tour of the facilities and hear a message from Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau President and CEO Gretchen Hall. We will be meeting in one of the new meeting spaces that overlook the river.

Here are a few details you need to know:

PARKING - Your parking will be paid for. Simply write IABC/Ark. on your parking ticket when you leave and you will not be charged. Robinson Center offers self parking in the Robinson Parking Garage, attached to the center. The entrance to the parking garage is located at Markham & Spring Streets and off of LaHarpe Boulevard on the North side of the Robinson Center/DoubleTree Hotel complex. Just come in either through the parking deck or at street level go around to the Broadway side of the building take the elevator bank up to the third floor. We will meetin Davis Hall.

LUNCH - We’ll be having box lunches provided by the Marriott. Here’s your choice: Chicken Salad, Smoked Turkey Club or Mediterranean Grilled Vegetable. (All lunches served with chips, fruit, cookie and water). Simply indicate your lunch preference when you register for the meeting. Please note that "tuna salad" is no longer an option, although it appears on the online registration.

You must register by March 20 to ensure that you have a lunch.

All of the interior spaces have been rethought and reconfigured to provide enhanced acoustics, updated interior finishes, new media technology, dressing room upgrades, expanded loading dock and storage areas, expanded public lobbies and restrooms, onsite box office, a new centrally-located grand stair to link multiple lobby levels, new public drop-offs and parking garage vestibules and much more. A brand-new conference center provides a flexible event space accommodating 530 people and four new meeting rooms above with direct access to a 5,477-square-foot terrace—all presenting a new public face to downtown with stunning views towards the Arkansas River and beyond. (Where we will meet!)

Gretchen Hall started with the Convention and Visitors Bureau in 2001 on the operations side before moving to sales and marketing and eventually being named president. Hall grew up in Sheridan and went to Mount Saint Mary’s in Little Rock. She then went on to Lyon College and has a master’s degree from UA Little Rock in business administration.
